Black Joy: Kofi Stone's celebration of race

A still from Kofi Stone's Black Joy music video

Kofi Stone has released his latest single Black Joy produced by Ben Joice

The single is an emphatic celebration of black people while also acknowledging historic and current challenges in as high a quality display of rapping as you'll hear this year.

The Birmingham rapper is responsible for one of my favourite lyrics of all time with "if I never make it to heaven at least I made it through the hell", and so it's no surprise whatsoever to hear how well he expresses himself on Black Joy.

Everyone brought their A game to this song. Along with Kofi rapping his arse off, Joice's soul sampling production is phenomenal and the mix/master/engineering is absolute perfection.
